The faces of a jeonse fraudster couple, who allegedly stole 6.2 billion won in deposits from 90 tenants and fled to the United States to live a luxurious life, have been revealed through the U.S. Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE.

ICE recently released photos of a man in his 40s and a Choi couple who were repatriated to Korea on the 19th of last month on their official website.

The couple in their 40s are accused of stealing 6.2 billion won by committing a so-called "tin can lease" scam, which has more loans and deposits than the actual value of the building, after buying 11 multi-family houses in Daejeon for four years from April 2019.

They were found to have fled to the U.S. in 2022 to avoid a police investigation, and were arrested last month after two months of investigation by the U.S. Homeland Security Investigations and ICE's Enforcement Returning Operations Team in cooperation with the South Korean police since August last year.
