Ryu Hee-rim, chairman of the Korea Communications Standards Commission, who is at odds with the union over budget cuts, said, "The union should be held accountable for its recent illegal activities."

Chairman Ryu said in an official position today (13th) that the union blocked the passage of the head of the agency on the 10th and was locked up in the office for nearly two hours, and eventually asked the police for help.

At that time, the Korea Communications Standards Commission union staged a sit-in in the hallway in front of the chairman's office and demanded that chairman Ryu return 30% of his annual salary and spend it on improving employee treatment.

In response, Ryu protested that if the union surrendered to political pressure and cut the annual salary of the head of an independent agency, saying that the union demanded a wage cut based on the side opinions unilaterally led by the opposition party.

He also said that even if he cuts his salary, he will not be able to restore ordinary expenses through tax changes or business adjustments, and asked him to put his head together to overcome this crisis.

The Korea Communications Standards Commission union held an emergency general meeting this afternoon calling for Ryu's resignation and stressed that it would prevent Ryu's salary from being voted on at the Korea Communications Standards Commission's plenary session.
