According to foreign media, a number of houses along the coastline were burned down as one of the simultaneous LA wildfires, the Palisades wildfire, hit, but a three-story white house was spotted alive.
The house is owned by David Steiner, a lawyer and former CEO of waste management company Waste Management.
Steiner said shortly after she heard the news of the wildfire that she "thought she had lost her home."
However, after that, acquaintances kept in touch, and the news was that a picture of his house standing tall in the middle of the rubble was becoming a hot topic.
Steiner explained that it was thanks to the construction of the house with a strong structure using concrete to withstand fires and earthquakes. It added that the roof of the
building was made of fireproof material and that it also built a 15-meter-deep foundation in the bedrock to withstand strong waves.
He said, "I offer my condolences to those who lost their homes."
