"As Russia's war of aggression continues to devastate Ukraine, 12.7 million people need urgent support," the Commission said, explaining the background of the support.
"The fund will be used for emergency support such as food and shelter, clean water, medical services and winter protection," it said.
The Commission will first support vulnerable groups in eastern and southern Ukraine, which have been heavily affected by the war.
In addition, the government will provide additional support worth 8 million euros, about 11.9 billion won, to Moldova, a neighboring country that hosts Ukrainian refugees.
Including the recently announced aid, the total humanitarian aid provided by the EU to Ukraine and Moldova since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine exceeds 1.1 billion euros and 1.6 trillion won.
