The musical "Jekyll and Hyde," which opened in November last year, is an adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's best novel "Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde."
Through a story in which the two characters of "Jekyll" and "Hyde" confront each other in a character, they shed light on the duality of good, evil, and humans, and they have been loved by the audience for dealing with solid trust and pure love even in scary and dark situations.
Kim Sung-chul was newly cast in the role of "Jekyll," a promising doctor and scientist, "Hyde," which was born as an inner evil self through drug experiments, and "Jekyll/Hyde," which clearly shows human ambivalence, captivated the audience at once.
Jekyll, who has a clear brain and a firm belief, is expressed in a firm and reliable voice and soft sensibility, and he shows extreme charm by expressing the Hyde of absolute evil with rough and exaggerated loud action and a sound of scratching the neck similar to the sound of a beast.
Kim Sung-chul showed a big change in singing by easily singing in a lower-than-usual range. Through the representative numbers, "This Is The Moment," "Alive," and "Confrontation," he showed off his rich voice and explosive energy.
Kim Sung-chul continues his activities in various ways, crossing the stage, screen, and CRT. From bright and fresh youth to unique characters with strong personality to characters who cross good and evil or have a story for a man, they are filling up various filmography.
Last year, he performed beyond genres such as musical "Monte Cristo," movie "Comment Unit" and Disney+ "No Way Out: The Roulette," and especially in season 2 of Netflix's "Hell", he completely filled Yoo Ah-in's vacancy and clearly impressed the public.
Expectations are also high for the growth he will show this year, as he is actively showing new appearances every time. The musical "Jekyll and Hyde," in which Kim Sung-chul participates, will be available at Blue Square Shinhan Card Hall in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul until early March.
