On the 12th (local time), a unique event called "No Trousers Tube Ride" was held in London, England, attracting citizens' attention.

The event was first launched in 2002 by Charlie Todd, a comedian from New York, with seven participants, and has since spread to major cities around the world.

It has been held regularly every year in London since 2009.

The event began at 2:45 p.m. in London's Soho Chinatown.

The participants were surprised by their appearance in neat tops but no bottoms except underwear.

When the event began in earnest 15 minutes later, they traveled to London's major subway stations, Westminster, South Kensington and Waterloo, reading books or listening to music as usual.

"The only goal of the event is to have a good day," the event's organizers said, adding that it focused on bringing joy to the participants as well.

"This event is harmless and purely for fun," said Charlie Todd, the event's founder. "The purpose is to make people laugh, and I hope this spirit will continue in the future."

Dave Selkirk, 40, the organizer of this year's event, told the BBC: "There are so many bad things and boring things in the world. It is important to simply feel pleasure through these events," he stressed.

"When I saw this event online, I thought, 'Why not?' so I participated," one participant said. "If someone asks me why I'm climbing Everest, I'll answer the same."

However, this event is not welcomed by everyone.

Some online Internet users responded critically, saying, "It's unpleasant in public" or "It's horrible to watch."

On the other hand, there were not a few opinions advocating the event, saying, "It is no different from what you wear on the beach."
