Hyundai Motor and Kia said exports of hybrid, electric and hydrogen-electric vehicles rose 3% to more than 707,000 units last year from a year ago, according to a preliminary tally of their export performances.
This is the largest export performance ever for eco-friendly cars, exceeding the previous record of 2023.
Hyundai Motor Group attributed this to the expansion of its hybrid vehicle lineup in line with a temporary slowdown in EV demand, in addition to the rapid transition to electricity.
