The News Alliance Evaluation Committee, which examines media companies that will enter the two major portals such as Naver and Daum, held a seminar to find ways to secure fairness in portal news in connection with the temporary suspension from May 2023.

The People's Power Media Special Committee and Rep. Kim Jang-kyum held a seminar on securing fairness in portal news by the Post Affiliate Evaluation Committee.

Kwon Young-se, chairman of the emergency committee, said in a congratulatory speech that the portal platform in the digital age functions as a center of public opinion formation and social discourse beyond simple information media, while the portal evaluation committee has been constantly pointed out for fairness and structural limitations in its operation process.

At the same time, he stressed that he will continue policy efforts to strengthen fairness and transparency in portal news.

Rep. Kim Jang-kyum also said that although the committee is a neutral organization, it was biased and was not free from criticism, such as watching certain media, and that he hopes the discussion will be a major turning point in restoring fairness to portal news.
