Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission recommends 'Standard Guidelines for Textbook Files for the Blind'

The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission recommended the Ministry of Education to come up with national standard guidelines for producing textbook files for the visually impaired.

According to an investigation by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, KS standards are in place when producing textbooks for the visually impaired, but publishers do not comply.

Most publishers have to convert charts or graphs included in non-disabled textbooks into text and then change them to braille, but it was found that they provided them as they were without changing them to text.

The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission recommended that the Ministry of Education clearly prepare and present national-level standard guidelines to follow when producing textbook files for the visually impaired, and that publishers that publish textbooks must comply with the guidelines to produce learning textbook files for the visually impaired.
