Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon argued that it is desirable for the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit to withdraw from the investigation and for the president to investigate without detention in connection with the arrest of President Yoon Suk Yeol.

Mayor Oh said on social media that the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit is dividing the public opinion due to numerous violations and illegal controversies during the investigation, and that the investigative agency should not be swayed by the Democratic Party of Korea's pressure and follow due process.

The president then stressed that an investigation without detention is desirable because there is no fear of escape, most of the recruits involved have been secured, and the security service has not prevented them from entering the arrest staff.
