U.S. B-1B Strategic Bomber Participates in Air Force Training of South Korea, U.S. and Japan

The Ministry of National Defense said the U.S. and Japan conducted an aerial drill in the air near the Korean Peninsula today, with the participation of U.S. B-1B strategic bombers.

The aerial training is the first in more than two months since November 3 last year, and South Korean F-15K fighters and Japanese F-2 fighters participated in the training.

The ministry said it conducted the drills to improve the deterrence and response capabilities of South Korea, the U.S. and Japan to North Korea's advancing nuclear and missile threats.

He stressed that the three countries will continue to expand trilateral exercises based on close cooperation to deter North Korea's threats and strengthen cooperation to jointly respond.
