The Democratic Party of Korea reaffirmed its policy to deal with the "insurrection independent counsel law" reissued by the opposition party no later than tomorrow (16th).

The proposal of its own independent counsel bill, which was predicted by the people's power, is being delayed in the aftermath of the arrest of President Yoon Suk Yeol, but it is still unknown whether the ruling and opposition parties will reach a deal.

The Democratic Party reiterated that the arrest of President Yoon Suk Yeol and the handling of the independent counsel law are separate issues, and that the independent counsel law against civil war should be handled at tomorrow's plenary session.

He also launched a public opinion campaign, refuting the ruling party's argument that the investigation should exclude suspicions of inducing North Korea's provocations or propaganda of civil war.

However, if the ruling party actually comes up with a bill, there is a possibility of discussing it, leaving open the room for negotiations.

The power of the people, who faced the first arrest of an incumbent president, expressed reluctance to propose a special prosecutor's bill right now.

We plan to propose it not too late after further discussion at tomorrow's emergency general meeting of lawmakers.

However, he did not hide his discomfort over the opposition's one-sided handling of the special prosecution law, saying that he did not actually intend to discuss it.

National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik, who has the authority to make decisions, is in a position to expedite the independent counsel law that the ruling and opposition parties are discussing.

There is a possibility that the independent counsel bill will pass the National Assembly within this week due to an agreement between the ruling and opposition parties.

However, some predict that a dramatic agreement will not be easy as differences between the ruling and opposition parties and differences are not completely resolved within the ruling party.
