HUG said last year's lease deposit return guarantee was KRW 4.489 trillion and the number of accidents was KRW 29,941.
This is a 3.6% increase from KRW 4.33 trillion in 2023.
This is because landlords have not been able to return a large number of deposits as lease prices fell in the wake of the return of the expiration of the lease on a deposit basis contract signed around 2021, when house prices and lease on a deposit basis prices were at their peak.
However, the size of monthly lease guarantee accidents is on the decline as lease contracts gradually end during the soaring real estate prices.
It continued to decline from 349.6 billion won in August last year to 346.4 billion won in September last year, and the accident amount in December last year was 230.9 billion won.
As HUG's role in supplying guarantees to support the sluggish construction and real estate economy grows, it is expected that as much as trillions of capital will be expanded this year.
