Gyeonggi-do Provincial Government executes tourism budget of 38.2 billion won early in the first half of the year...a preemptive response to a crisis

Gyeonggi-do Province announced that it will execute 38.25 billion won, or 66 percent of this year's tourism business budget, in the first half of the year to revitalize the tourism industry and the local economy, which are suffering from the aftermath of the emergency martial law and the impeachment.

This year's tourism budget decreased by 2.64 billion won, but the provincial budget increased by 8.17 billion won, bringing the total to 57.57 billion won.

The province plans to invest 16.5 billion won in tourism development projects in 31 cities and counties to build tourism infrastructure and provide 3.3 billion won to four projects, including food industry tourism, to revitalize tourism in northern Gyeonggi Province.

It will also promote a "special funding project to overcome the crisis in the tourism industry" that will contribute 2 billion won to the Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation to provide a total of 10 billion won in loans.
