The agency of girl group IVE has apologized for sharing a deepfake photo of Ahn Yu-jin on its official SNS.

Starship Entertainment said today (15th) that "We sincerely bow down and apologize to our artist Ahn Yu-jin and fans who must have been deeply hurt by the grave negligence of our staff in charge of Chinese SNS on the 9th."

"This case was identified as a problem caused by our negligence in management, and the highest level of severe disciplinary action was taken against the employee and excluded from related tasks," he said. "We will thoroughly reorganize our internal management system to prevent such unsavory events from happening again in the future."

Starship Entertainment also said of Ahn Yu-jin, "I promise to do my best to recover the damage caused by this," adding, "We are taking continuous legal action against spreading false information and slander related to artists, and we will prevent further damage from spreading."
