On the 12th, the GV (Conversation with Audience) of the movie "Bogota: Land of Last Chance" was held in Seoul's Megabox Seongsu. Song Joong-ki and Lee Hee-jun, who appeared in the movie, and actor Lee Sung-min participated as special guests.
At the end of the GV, Lee Sung-min said, "I was heartbroken because the parking lot was empty. There seems to be no one in the theater. There are many reasons, but it is very difficult to learn when there is no audience in the theater," he said. "I really want to die if I release a movie in such a period," he said. However, it is the actors who have to deal with it, so please give us a lot of strength and help us finish our movie well."
Lee Hee-jun also said, "It's a lower grade than expected, but it's so precious to say hello to those who came. It is such a precious movie that it has been released through the direct hit of COVID-19. Thank you for coming to the end. Today is the last day of the official promotion of "Bogota." I'm happy to say hello to the movie I've been in my heart for five years," he said, expressing his gratitude to the audience.
Song Joong-ki, who finally grabbed the microphone, said, "With today's GV, the schedule related to 'Bogota' is completely over. "I'm truly honored to be with Lee Sung-min at the end," he said, adding, "As you said, Korean movies are so difficult these days, so I'm honestly grateful that they're in the theater."
He then said, "Korean movies are difficult. So I worked harder than ever to promote it. I wanted to let you know, I wanted to look pretty, and even if I'm not good enough and criticized, I'm not good enough to make this situation good, but I've tried it," he said.
Song Joong-ki seemed to be conscious of the poor performance of his work, saying, "But I still want to say thank you to everyone who came to see our movie. Our actors' role is to create good content to comfort and make you laugh to the audiences who are living hard. The audience gave me strength, so I will continue to strive to be supportive again," he said.
Song Joon-ki also cleared his throat with a dry cough, saying, "I get emotional talking." His eyes, his microphone down, were wet as if they were in tears.
The break-even point of the movie "Bogota: Land of Last Chance" is known to be about 3 million, but as of today (16th) morning, the cumulative audience was only 408,138. The box office ranking was pushed to 14th place, effectively losing its box office momentum in theaters.
