Last year, 785 drug offenders in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province were cracked down.the seizure of drugs in large quantities

The Daegu District Prosecutors' Office said it arrested 785 drug offenders, arrested 24 people, and seized a large amount of drugs such as 3,000 grams of methamphetamine and 6,000 grams of hemp through an intensive investigation into drugs last year.

Among them were cases of illegal drug distribution, such as importing 1.8 billion won worth of drugs from Thailand, being caught and sentenced to 18 years in prison, or selling ketamine at clubs.

The prosecution also explained that there were also crimes against minors, such as stealing 530 million won in smuggling funds by tricking a high school student into selling methamphetamine and giving him the proceeds.

The prosecution plans to cooperate with police and customs to block related crimes as the number of drug offenders in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province has nearly doubled over the past five years.
