The ministry said in a statement named by its spokesman that the government welcomed the conclusion of a cease-fire and hostage release deal in Gaza and appreciated the diplomatic efforts of the United States, Qatar and Egypt that played a major role in reaching a deal.
He also stressed that he hopes the thorough and swift implementation of the agreement will free all hostages and improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza, and that the discussion on diplomatic solutions for peace and stability in the region will begin in earnest.
At the same time, the government explained that as a non-permanent member of the U.N. Security Council, it will continue to participate in the international community's efforts to restore and promote peace in the Middle East.
