According to a Yonhap News report today (16th), the prosecution asked the court to sentence A, a woman in her 30s, to seven years in prison on charges of racketeering under the Specific Economic Aggravated Punishment Act in the 11th Criminal Department of the Uijeongbu District Court (Chief Judge Oh Chang-seop).
According to the prosecution's indictment on the day, A extorted about 840 million won from the victim 101 times by threatening Kim Joon-soo on social media and demanding money.
In response, A's lawyer said he acknowledged and reflected on all the prosecution, explaining, "I continued to ask the victim for money with a stupid judgment to pay for the drug."
Mr. A is also known to have read a letter of apology that he had prepared, saying, "I want to reflect on myself, repent, and be punished sweetly every day, and return to a member of society proudly."
Meanwhile, A was accused of extorting 800 million won worth of money and valuables by threatening Kim Joon-soo from September 2020 to October last year. He secretly recorded his personal relationship with Kim Jun-su and threatened to distribute it on social media.
In response, Kim Joon-soo's agency, Palm Tree Island, said, "Kim Jun-su confirmed that there were a number of victims not only himself but also A's blackmail threats. We will respond strongly to prevent further damage," he said.
