According to the Korea National Oil Corporation's oil price information system Opinet today (16th), the average gasoline price at gas stations nationwide was 1,711.73 won per liter.
The average price at a gas station in Seoul was 1,782.71 won, the highest among regions.
The figure is the highest in eight months since it hit 1,785.16 won in May last year.
Diesel is also 1,564.08 won per liter, which has been on the rise since surpassing 1,500 won last month.
Israel and Hamas have reached a truce, but rising international oil prices are also pushing up domestic gas prices, with international oil prices hitting a five-month high in the wake of U.S. sanctions on Russia.
Concerns about inflation are growing as Korea is highly dependent on crude oil and the "strong dollar" phenomenon continues.
