Thai Prime Minister Patton Shinawatra warned against voice phishing using artificial intelligence and AI technology.

According to local media such as the Bangkok Post and AFP, Prime Minister Patton Tan told reporters his experience of being almost deceived by sophisticated voice phishing impersonating a neighboring leader with voice reproduction.

Patton Tan said he received a voicemail in a well-known foreign leader's voice saying, "I hope to work together in anticipation of meeting."

In response, he replied 'okay' by text message, and he received a reply saying he would contact you again later.

Later, Prime Minister Patton Tan, who went to bed early and did not answer the phone call at 11 p.m., sent an apology text the next day, and the other party asked for donations, saying, "Thailand is the only ASEAN country that has not yet donated."

Patton said he was somewhat surprised and suspected by the donation request, and only after confirming that the bank account number they sent belonged to a third country did he learn it was a scam.

He did not comment on foreign leadership identities impersonated by the fraudsters.

"I also want to let people know and warn them that I almost became a victim," Patton said. "I have to admit that fraud is becoming more intelligent and more sophisticated."

At the same time, I asked the Ministry of Digital Economy and Social Affairs to take care of this case.

Patton Tan, who became Thailand's youngest prime minister at the age of 37 last year, is the youngest daughter of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, a former telecommunications tycoon.
