The Seoul Detention Center, where President Yoon Suk Yeol, who was arrested on charges of rebellion and abuse of authority, was detained, is located in Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do.

It is about a 10-minute drive from the Gwacheon Government Complex, where the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit is located.

The Seoul Detention Center is sometimes referred to as a "bumbal" collective center after slang that refers to inmates with high social status.

This is because it is a place where politicians, high-ranking officials, and businessmen investigated by the Central Investigation Department of the former Supreme Prosecutors' Office or the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office usually go through.

Former presidents who were detained also went through Seoul Detention Center.Former President Roh Tae-woo,

, was detained in Seoul Detention Center in 1995 when he was arrested on charges of leading a civil war.

Former President Park Geun Hye, who was arrested for the manipulation of state affairs, was also detained in the Seoul Detention Center in 2017.

However, it is the first time in constitutional history that President Yoon has been detained as an incumbent.

It was found that there were no separate security regulations for the current president's detention.

Accordingly, the security agency is expected to continue consultations with the Seoul Detention Center on specific security methods and levels.
