The intellectual property dispute between Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co. and Westinghouse in the U.S. over the Czech nuclear power plant order is expected to come to an end.

According to the nuclear industry, KHNP, Korea Electric Power Corp. and Westinghouse have agreed to suspend the intellectual property dispute process and cooperate in the global nuclear power plant market in the future.

Until now, the intellectual property dispute between KHNP and Westinghouse has been considered the biggest stumbling block ahead of the final order for a new nuclear power plant in Dukovani, Czech Republic, scheduled for March.

KHNP, KEPCO and Westinghouse are expected to officially announce a deal on the 16th local time in the U.S. with Canadian nuclear fuel company Cameco, which owns a stake in Westinghouse.

However, KHNP and Westinghouse will not disclose the details of the intellectual property negotiations in accordance with the promise of confidentiality.

Earlier, Westinghouse put a brake on KHNP's independent export, saying that the latest Korean nuclear power plant APR1400 that KHNP is trying to supply to the Czech Republic is based on its original technology.
