Slovak high school student killed in stabbings

An 18-year-old student stabbed a teacher and his classmates at a high school in Slovakia, killing two people.

On the 16th local time, an 18-year-old boy was arrested by police while fleeing after attacking three people, including a teacher and his classmates, with a weapon at a high school in the northern Slovak city of Spisca Starabes.

One 51-year-old teacher and student who were taken to the hospital died, while the other student is in a critical condition.

All the victims are women, and the police are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident, including the motive of the crime.

Slovak President Peter Pellegrini expressed his condolences to the bereaved, saying the incident was a tragedy, and Slovak education authorities said they would take steps to prevent a repeat of the incident.
