Foreign media, including AFP, reported that Netanyahu convened a security cabinet meeting to vote on the agreement to implement the ceasefire.
"Netanyahu has been informed by his negotiating team that an agreement has been reached on negotiations for the release of hostages," the prime minister's office said in a statement, adding that the agreement has also been signed.
Following the security cabinet meeting, a full cabinet meeting to finally approve the agreement is expected to take place on the night of the 18th local time.
If this happens, the implementation time of the ceasefire and hostage release agreement will be moved to the 20th, a day later than the 19th, which was originally expected by the U.S. and Qatar, the arbitrators.
Earlier, Qatar and the United States announced that Israel and Hamas have agreed to a three-stage cease-fire that will be carried out until the end of a permanent war and will take effect on the 19th.
