While the People's Power decided to propose its own independent counsel law excluding foreign exchange and incitement of civil war in the independent counsel law proposed by the opposition party, it has been confirmed that four lawmakers have not been listed as co-sponsors.

A ruling party official told YTN that although the floor leadership asked their lawmakers to sign the bill, five-term lawmaker Yoon Sang-hyun and two-term lawmakers Jang Dong-hyuk, Jung Hee-yong and first-term Yoo Young-ha did not participate in the bill.

In a related development, Rep. Chung Hee-yong explained on social media that the declaration of emergency martial law was wrong, but the investigation is already being conducted and there are concerns about distortion of public opinion due to the leakage of the investigation.

It is highly likely that it will be concluded with an investigation to produce results, not a fact-finding investigation, said Special Prosecutors Jeong Jaeng-yong and Daeseon, pointing out that it is inevitably a duplicate investigation in which excessive taxpayers' money is spent.

Floor leader Kwon Sung-dong said yesterday (16th) that he would propose his own independent counsel bill in the name of all 108 lawmakers, which adjusted the scope of the investigation in the independent counsel bill proposed by the opposition party.
