"It is unpleasant for Biden (President Joe Biden) to say that he did it," Trump said after making the remarks in a telephone interview with the Internet broadcast "The Dan Bongino Show" released on the 16th local time. "He didn't do anything."
Trump also added, "It would be better to be that (implementation of the ceasefire and hostage release agreement) before I take the oath of office (at the inauguration ceremony on the 20th)."
He also argued that the situation was "very similar to the Carter-Reagan situation" when the agreement was reached.
It was a reminder of the situation in which the hostage crisis of the U.S. Embassy in Iran during the Democratic Jimmy Carter administration was resolved after Republican candidate Ronald Reagan won the 1980 presidential election and then-President Carter.
President-elect Trump also said, "Something is happening," regarding the recent discovery of unidentified drones at night in the northeastern United States, including New Jersey, and added, "We will find out very quickly. That's one of the first things I'm going to look into (after taking office)," he said.
At the same time, Trump said President Joe Biden would file a revocation lawsuit shortly after taking office over his recent announcement of a ban on new drilling for oil and natural gas in the vast waters around the United States.
Meanwhile, Trump expressed his perception that the recent wildfires around Los Angeles (LA), which have caused significant human and property damage, have spurred his push for package legislation after taking office.
"I think the concept of one big, beautiful bill has been greatly helped by the Los Angeles (forest fires)," he said after presupposing that the fires around L.A. were "unfortunate."
"Los Angeles (the bushfires) are the job of Democrats, and they want the funds to be put in very quickly (to help with damage recovery)," Trump added.
This is interpreted as Trump's plan to link with the handling of the LA wildfire damage recovery support bill or collectively deal with it as a single bill when he pursues a package bill that includes his key pledges such as strengthening border security, reducing taxes, and expanding fossil energy source drilling shortly after taking office on the 20th.
Relief aid related to major disasters in areas where Democrats have strong Democratic support and control of state (California) and city (LA) government leadership is an urgent issue for Democrats.
By linking this with the "Trump Pledge Implementation Bill Package," Trump seems to expect that he will be able to handle his core legislation without much resistance from the Democratic Party.
Some point out that such remarks are trying to link humanitarian and urgent support for natural disasters to political purposes.
