When the Ministry of National Defense's prosecutors appealed against the acquittal of the first trial of the case of the death of a wounded soldier, Colonel Park Jung-hoon's lawyers criticized, "The purpose is to reject the investigation because it is likely to reveal an accomplice of external pressure."

The lawyers held a press conference at the Military Human Rights Center today (17th) and argued that if the military prosecution's indictment against Colonel Park was caused by systematic external pressure on the investigation, it should be dismissed as abuse of the right to indict.

To this end, he stressed that the National Assembly should pass the Special Prosecutor Act on Chae Sang-byung to find out the truth of the case, including external pressure.

At the same time, he added that the appeals court should strictly clarify the actual cause, such as whether there was an order from President Yoon Suk Yeol in former Defense Minister Lee Jong-seop's change of mind.

Colonel Park Jung-hoon, as the head of the investigation team in the case of corporal Chae, was recently acquitted in the first trial after being put on trial for not following the police instructions to withhold or stop the transfer of investigation records.
