Today (17th), the KOSPI closed at 2,523.55, down 0.16% from yesterday.
Foreigners turned to "sell" in three trading days, and institutions also sold off, dragging down the overall index.
Analysts say the sell-off was due to growing vigilance over the second Trump administration's tariff policy, which will be launched next week.
KOSDAQ closed 0.06% higher at 724.69.
The local currency was trading at 1,458.3 won against the U.S. dollar as of 3:30 p.m., up 1.6 won from the greenback.
