The Fair Trade Investigation Department of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office handed over three people, including former chairman Hong's wife and two children, to trial on charges of breach of trust under the Special Police Act.
Prosecutors believe they purchased French luxury brand products more than 50 times with company money and paid for overseas travel expenses, home appliances such as vacuum cleaners, and mobile phone bills.
Earlier, the prosecution handed over former chairman Hong to trial on charges of violating the Food Labeling and Advertising Act, including charges of embezzlement and breach of trust under the Special Price Act and saying that it is effective in preventing COVID-19.
