Lee Sang-chul, a professor at the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, was appointed as the head of the Korea Astronomy and Space Research Institute, and Dr. Park Jang-hyun was appointed as the head of the Korea Astronomy and Space Research Institute.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) held a board meeting yesterday (16th) and today (17th), respectively, and announced the appointment of the next directors.

Lee Sang-chul, the new director of the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, received a bachelor's and master's degree from Seoul National University's Department of Aeronautics and Engineering, received a doctorate in aerospace engineering from Texas A&M University in the U.S., and served as a professor at Korea Aerospace University since 2006.

Park Jang-hyun, the new president of the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute, received a bachelor's degree and master's and doctorate degrees from Yonsei University's astronomy department, and he joined the institute in 1992 and served as the head of the Space Risk Monitoring Center before serving as the vice president of the Korea Space Science Association since 2020.

The terms of the two new directors will be three years from the 20th.
