Apple To Disable Successive Errors 'AI News Summary'

Foreign media reported that Apple recently disabled its news summary notification feature, which has been criticized for a series of errors.

According to the BBC on the 16th local time, Apple announced that it will disable the news summary notification function, which has been considered a representative artificial intelligence function, through software updates for developers.

Apple's news summary notification function was controversial in December last year when it made an error in delivering BBC news.

At the time, the BBC reported on Luigi Manzoni, the shooter who killed the chief executive of a U.S. health insurance company, and Apple summarized the news and delivered the wrong message, saying, "Manzoni took his own life."

Upon learning this, the BBC protested and raised issues with Apple, leading to a series of related reports.

In addition to disabling the news summary feature, Apple said it would send a warning message that there could be an error to users who set them to receive notification summaries from other apps.
