The high-ranking government official's crime investigation office called fire authorities to check the "suspected media loss and water supply."

In the investigation, the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit reportedly asked them whether former Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min ordered Kyunghyang Shinmun, Hankyoreh, and MBC to cut power and water immediately after martial law was declared.

Earlier, Fire Commissioner Huh Seok-gon said he received a call from former Minister Lee on the day of the emergency martial law to "cooperate with the media's power cutoff and water cutoff measures if there is a police request."

However, he explained that there was no request from the police and that power cuts and power cuts did not proceed to the realization of the fire.
