U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres stressed the need to stop Israel's "occupation" and military operations in southern Lebanon.

During a visit to the headquarters of the UN Peacekeeping Forces (UNFIL) in Lebanon on the 17th local time, Guterres said the Israeli military's activities should be stopped in violation of UN Security Council resolutions.

It also said that since the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah at the end of November last year, UN peacekeepers have found more than 100 weapons storage facilities in southern Lebanon.

Guterres said the presence of armed personnel, equipment and weapons other than regular Lebanese troops and UN peacekeepers was a violation of UN Security Council resolutions.

The truce agreed between Israel and Hezbollah on November 27 last year ends on the 26th with a 60-day deadline.

In the meantime, Hezbollah is north of the Ritani River, 30 kilometers from the border, Israel will withdraw outside Lebanon's borders and the international commission and UN peacekeepers will monitor violations of the ceasefire agreement.
