According to the oil price information system Opinet, the average price of gasoline at stations nationwide in the third week of January was 1,706.1 won per liter, up 18 won from the previous week.
By region, the highest price was Seoul, up 24.5 won from the previous week to 1,773.8 won, while Daegu, the cheapest, up 18.7 won from the previous week to 1,678.6.
The average value of diesel at gas stations nationwide also rose 21.8 won to 1,556.9 won per liter.
As international oil prices are also on the rise due to geopolitical instability, domestic oil prices are expected to continue to rise for the time being.
