A joint memorial service is being held, can you tell me what's going on now?

[Reporter]
Yes, it's a joint memorial service held 20 days after the accident.

On the second floor of Muan Airport, a memorial ceremony is being held with 1,200 bereaved families and government officials attending.

The memorial ceremony began with a performance, and a ceremony to relieve the victim's resentment was held with Jindo's "Sitgim Exorcism."

Then, there was an order of silence, offerings, and incense to commemorate the souls of the victims.

During the laying of flowers, the names of 179 victims and memorial messages posted on the stairs of the second floor of the airport were sent on the screen to pray for the victims' funeral.

Acting President Choi Sang-mok also attended today's memorial service.

In an accident that should not have happened, he said he left 179 precious family members, friends, and colleagues, and he offered flowers with deep condolences and consolation.

The memorial service ends with a video of the victim's memory, a reading of a bereaved family letter, and a performance of a memorial song.

After that, the bereaved families plan to visit the scene of the disaster and mourn the victims.

At the site, the work to recover the aircraft is also nearing the end?

[Reporter]
Yes, it is.

First of all, the final stage is to recover the debris of the gas that has been done so far.

The fuselage and main wings, as well as the tail, have been collected.

All debris, including the engine, are said to be subjected to precise analysis.

Additional searches have also been carried out at the site since the 6th.

In the process, some artifacts such as harmful micro-tissues and crew ID cards were found.

The bereaved family plans to decide whether to end the search soon.

From the 20th, the government has decided to operate a pan-government support organization, the Airplane Accident Victim Support Group.

In addition, Jeollanam-do and Gwangju plan to maintain a one-on-one support system between bereaved families and public officials during the holidays.

Currently, Korea, the U.S. Transportation Safety Commission, and production companies are jointly investigating the cause of the accident.

Apart from this, the Jeonnam Police Agency's investigation headquarters is also continuing its investigation by calling officials from Muan Airport and Jeju Air as references.

It is still unclear whether Muan Airport will resume operations, with the runway closed until 5 a.m. tomorrow after three extensions.

So far, I'm Na Hyun-ho of YTN at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do.
