Bloomberg reported on the 16th (local time), citing an unnamed source, that CEO Hwang is visiting Taiwan, China, this week, and that the Taiwanese-American has usually carried out such a schedule during the Spring Festival (春節, Chinese New Year).
In fact, if CEO Hwang is absent, it will be contrasted with the attendance of big tech (big tech companies) such as Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Amazon Chairman Jeff Bezos, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on the 20th.
CEO Hwang has never attended the inauguration of the U.S. president before, and it is said that he will be an exception this time.
CEO Hwang previously said in an interview on the 7th that he has not yet been invited to the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, the home of President-elect Trump, since the U.S. presidential election on November 5 last year.
He said at the time, "I'm willing to go and celebrate with President-elect Trump," and added, "I'll do anything for the success of this administration."
He also expected "that's a good thing" as he expected Trump to ease regulations.
Meanwhile, Nvidia has recently grown rapidly in artificial intelligence (AI) technology, but attention has been focused on whether CEO Hwang will attend or not in line with U.S. regulations on semiconductors with China.
Nvidia has significant sales in China, so the U.S. AI chip export controls are expected to have a major impact on the company.
