Foreign media reported in detail the interrogation of Yoon Suk Yeol's suspect before his arrest.

"President Yoon appeared in court for the first time and confronted the request for an extension of his arrest by the investigation team, which is investigating attempts to fail martial law," AFP said.

"During the hearing, thousands of supporters demonstrated for hours demanding Yoon's release," the Associated Press reported.

"Since President Yoon's declaration of martial law, Korea has faced the most serious political crisis since democratization in the late 1980s," he said.

Reuters also quickly reported that "a procession of vehicles escorting President Yoon moved after the court hearing," introducing details about the arrest warrant and President Yoon's reaction.
