Foreign media reported in detail the issuance of an arrest warrant for President Yoon?

[Reporter]
Yes, it is.

Reuters reported that the detention period of Yoon, who is under investigation for martial law-related insurrection, has been extended after the court accepted a request to issue an arrest warrant for him.

Reuters looked at the process and introduced the past when President Yoon was deeply involved in the investigation of former President Park Geun Hye while he was a prosecutor.

In particular, President Yoon said he investigated former President Park as the head of the independent counsel's investigation team in the Choi Soon-sil scandal in 2016, and that former President Park was impeached.

Japan's Kyodo News reported that President Yoon's arrest is the first case of an incumbent national leader's arrest in Korea.

China's state-run Xinhua News Agency also reported in breaking news that President Yoon's detention period will be extended to up to 20 days, including the arrest period, as the court issues an arrest warrant.

The Associated Press said, "Since President Yoon's declaration of martial law, Korea has faced the most serious political crisis since democratization in the late 1980s."

"The issuance of an arrest warrant could mean the beginning of a long-term detention period in which Yoon Suk Yeol's president is detained for months," he said.

At the same time, Russia's Sputnik news agency also introduced the arrest of President Yoon and introduced the reason for the issuance of a warrant by the judge in charge, saying, "There is a fear of destroying evidence."

The U.S. State Department will soon release its position on the matter.
