The Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit is expected to investigate for another week and hand over President Yoon's case to the prosecution.

President Yoon Suk Yeol, who was arrested on charges of rebellion and other charges, is expected to be handed over to criminal trial around the 5th of next month.

According to the Criminal Procedure Act, the arrest period is 10 days from the date of arrest, and can be extended once within 10 days.

The day President Yoon was arrested on the 15th.

Based on the date alone, the prosecution or release must be made by the 3rd of next month, but the actual expiration date of the arrest is expected to be later due to the arrest.

However, if the president requests an arrest suit and the court accepts it and releases it, the time of prosecution may be delayed.

In the meantime, if the independent counsel law on civil war, which was passed by the National Assembly, is promulgated, the investigation schedule will be completely changed.

The Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit, which does not have the right to prosecute the president, will conduct further investigations and hand over the case to the prosecution, but it has not been decided when it will be handed over.

Earlier, the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit and the prosecution agreed to use the arrest period for 10 days, but depending on the situation, the timing of handing over the case may vary.

The situation in which President Yoon does not respond to his request for attendance or refuses to make a statement is considered a variable, and as he has already indicted key accomplices such as former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun, it is observed that there will be no problem with the prosecution of President Yoon.
