President-elect Donald Trump has been vowing a so-called "drill baby drill" pledge to boost the fossil fuel industry in the United States.
However, as the world is reducing carbon emissions and President Biden is putting the brakes on Trump's policy, the push does not seem easy.

Trump has been making a "drill baby drill" pledge to become an energy powerhouse by increasing oil and gas drilling in the United States.
[Donald Trump / U.S. President-elect] We will drill for crude oil and gas. So, we will lower energy prices by 50% within a year from January 20th.]
Americans' reactions are mixed with expectations and concerns.
[Dalary / U.S. citizen] I hope Trump's policies have taken a good turn in the meantime. Things will be different in the future.]
[Bobby / American citizen] I think we should go with green energy. It's a sustainable choice for the future.]
Trump intends to completely reverse the Biden administration's green energy policy.
On the day of the inauguration, some predict that Biden will withdraw from the Paris Climate Change Convention, which he decided to return to.
Fossil energy advocates have already been placed in the positions of the second administration's head of the Environmental Protection Agency, the chairman of the National Energy Council, and the energy minister.
However, it is pointed out that it is difficult for the oil and gas industry to recklessly increase drilling at the risk of losses while oil prices are stable due to sufficient supply.
[Michael Geras/Morgan Stanley Managing Director: The impact of Trump's policy on the oil and gas market may be limited as U.S. crude oil and gas production is at an all-time high]
In addition, President Biden issued an executive order banning new oil and gas drilling off the coast of the United States, putting the brakes on Trump's plan.
It's not easy for Trump to overturn it because the president only has the power to designate a ban on drilling, and the power to withdraw is in Congress.
While the world is already transitioning to low-carbon green energy, it will not be easy for the second Trump administration to go against this trend as U.S. companies also have to consider the global market.
