Gyeonggi-do Provincial Government uncovered 84 special inspections of suspected jeonse fraud brokerage offices.

Gyeonggi Province said it conducted a special inspection with the city and county on illegal real estate brokerage transactions between October and December last year and found 84 cases in 78 businesses.

A total of 511 companies are subject to the inspection, including 444 licensed real estate agents who have traded damage counseling items at the Gyeonggi Jeonse Damage Support Center more than once and 67 selected by the city and county in consideration of the areas where new villas are concentrated.

Among the illegal activities caught, 12 cases, including excess brokerage fees, were requested to investigate, and the rest of the contracts were improperly written and non-reporting brokerage assistants were suspended, fined, and warned and corrected.

In the case of a real estate agent, A received 2 million won, far exceeding the legal brokerage fee of 594,000 won, from the landlord in the name of labor costs, and was requested to investigate.

Real estate agent B must access the rental housing information system to check with the landlord whether it is a private rental house registered under the relevant law, but a fine was imposed for violating this.The

provincial government has conducted a special inspection of 1,879 suspected jeonse fraud brokerage offices on five occasions since February 2023 and detected 424 cases at 304 locations, of which 76 were requested to investigate.
