Reporter Kim Da-hyun, please summarize the contents of today's Supreme Court meeting.

An emergency meeting of the Supreme Court justices on the riot at the Seoul Western District Court was held from 9:30 a.m. today.

After the meeting, Chun Dae-yup, the head of the court administration, attended the National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee and reported on the related information.

Minister Cheon said that when only the physical damage is counted, it seems that about 600 to 700 million won has been damaged so far.

Then, I reported in detail the progress of the Western District Court riot in chronological order.

Minister Cheon said the issuance of an arrest warrant for President Yoon Suk Yeol was reported in the media around 3 a.m., and about seven minutes later, supporters who were protesting nearby got excited and broke into the compound.

After that, supporters broke the window and entered the court to find Judge Cha, who had already left work.

Supporters are confirmed to have gone up to the seventh floor of the court, and Chief Cheon also said there were signs of deliberate damage to the warrant judge's room in the seventh floor judge's room.

However, it was found that Judge Cha's room was located on another floor and did not break in.

The court administration also clearly defined the incident as a "riot", right?

[Reporter]
That's right.

Bae Hyung-won, deputy chief of the National Court Administration, said at the National Assembly today that he was "right" when asked if the incident was a "riot."

He also said that there was no precedent in the history of the Republic of Korea that a court had been attacked like this, and that this should never happen.

The justices also expressed their concerns in one voice at today's emergency meeting.

At today's meeting, Minister Cheon said there were opinions that total denial of the rule of law should be viewed as a very serious issue and that a clear position should be arranged.

At the meeting, there was also a voice that the judiciary should also reflect on and make efforts if the public does not trust whether all trials were conducted quickly and without equity issues.

Chen also said that there was a need for legislative improvement, saying that the judicial system, which places a significant burden on individual judges, needs to be revised like in advanced countries.
