Kickflip's debut showcase was held today (20th) afternoon at Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.
The team name Kickflip was completed by borrowing a high-level skateboarding technology that rotates the board 360 degrees with the tip of the toe. It is a name that contains a bold determination to show a new performance without being bound by the existing one.
As all the members had a long practice period of at least three to nine years, the fact that they debuted on this day alone could not hide their overwhelming emotions. Donghwa said, "It's an unbelievably happy moment," adding, "I'm grateful that I can work with good members and have more and more fans." I'm nervous, nervous, and excited," he said. Minje also said, "I'm happy to achieve my dream of debuting, which I've dreamed of since I was young."
Gye-hoon, who had been a trainee for the longest time, said, "It was difficult to overcome the pressure to show a better performance during the monthly evaluation as the years increased. Still, I think I have an opportunity to come here because I've overcome the burden," he said, expressing his joy.
Among the members, Gye-hoon, Dong-hyun, Amaru, and K.J. have already announced their faces through SBS' "Loud" in 2021. They expressed confidence by saying, "My skills have grown a lot in many ways."
Our debut album, Flip It, Kick It!Kickflip's confidence and spirit were contained in "I will turn the world around and empty the ordeal." A total of six songs were included, including the title song "Mama Said," "Warriors," "Knock Knock," "Like A Monster," and "Meet Me Tomorrow."
As of the 15th, the album exceeded 300,000 pre-orders, proving its popularity even before its debut. Donghwa said, "I was grateful to be able to release an album, but I really didn't expect 300,000 pre-orders," adding, "I vowed to work harder and show better performances."
Above all, the title of "JYP Next Generation Boy Group" attracts the most attention. Donghwa said, "Like all JYP seniors, we will continue our genealogy by showing the best performance on stage."
He also picked Stray Kids, a senior group at the agency, as his role model. Donghwa said, "I want to put our name on the credits of many songs like you, and share our thoughts with many people."
He also listened to warm support and advice from seniors at the agency. K.Joo thanked Day6 Young K, who wrote the lyrics for the track "Warriors," saying, "It was an honor to work together, and I'm happy to start with Young K." King Joo hinted, "Stray Kids seniors advised me to fight with a mind to make up even if I have to fight."
Kick Flip will release its first mini album 'Flip It, Kick It!' at 6 p.m. and release its debut show on Mnet at 7 p.m. In addition, they will hold a debut showcase this evening and begin their activities in earnest, such as meeting fans.
Finally, the members said, "I want to be a fun and influential artist for a long time as this member. It is an important goal for our team to be together for a long time," he said, expressing his willingness to do team activities.
