Ministry of National Defense "Starting from the 10th of next month, joint training will be held in UAE"

The Ministry of National Defense said that South Korea and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will hold a 10-day joint drill involving joint forces of the Army, Navy and Marine Corps in the United Arab Emirates from the 10th of next month.

The training, which will take place near the UAE-based Al-Hamra training site and Abu Dhabi, will involve 14 K2 tanks and K9 self-propelled artillery, one landing ship, and a platoon of Marines.

To this end, the Navy's Cheonjabong vessel departed from Jinhae Port in South Gyeongsang Province with troops and equipment participating in the training.

The Ministry of National Defense added that during the training period, the Army will conduct battle shooting and joint practical training, the Navy will conduct tactical maneuvers and helicopter transfer and ship training, and the Marine Corps will conduct combat training at simulated training sites in urban areas.This is the second joint exercise with Middle Eastern countries using

K-weapons after Qatar last year, and the ministry said it would contribute to the expansion of defense exports as well as the improvement of joint operations with allies.
