A special National Assembly visit to Japan met with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and agreed to make this year, the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan, a significant year.

The five-member special parliamentary delegation, including the chairman of the Korea-Japan Federation, Vice-Chairman Joo Ho-young, Yun Ho-jung, Yoon Hoo-duk, Lee Seong-kwon and Lee Joon-seok, paid a 20-minute visit to Prime Minister Ishiba at the prime minister's residence in Tokyo this afternoon.

Ishiba said it is important for the two countries to continue to communicate closely in the current strategic environment.

The visitors explained that South Korean lawmakers value bilateral relations beyond political parties.
