According to a report by ABC News, donations collected at President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration totaled $250 million (about 362.7 billion won), again beating the record of the first Trump campaign.
It includes not only the official Trump inauguration committee but also other fundraising organizations preparing for this weekend's inauguration celebrations, more than double the $107 million (155.2 billion won) raised when Trump took office.
The amount raised by Joe Biden's inaugural committee in 2021 was $62 million (about 89.9 billion won).
At Trump's second inauguration, tech companies such as Meta, Apple, Amazon, Google, Microsoft (MS), OpenAI, and Uber each added more than $1 million (W1.45 billion).
Notably, Apple, Amazon, Google, and MS have also donated to previous presidential inaugurations, but this is Meta's first presidential donation.Sources said virtual currency industries such as
Ripple and Robinhood and Coinbase also made donations of $5 million, $2 million and $1 million, respectively.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and Chief Legal Officer (CLO) Stuart Alderrotti also posted a photo of themselves together on X (X, formerly Twitter), saying they met with Trump on the 8th.
Boeing and Bank of America (BOA), which have donated to the inauguration of the U.S. president for generations, also joined this time.
