An African swine fever broke out at a pig farm in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province.

The Central Disaster Management Headquarters said today (20th) that a suspicious report was received and a detailed examination confirmed that it was African swine fever.

To prevent the spread, the Central Disease Control Headquarters plans to send an initial quarantine team and an epidemiological investigation team to the farm to control access, while killing about 5,000 pigs in captivity.

In addition, until 9:30 p.m. tomorrow (21st), livestock facility workers and vehicles in Yangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, and six neighboring cities and counties were ordered to temporarily suspend movement.
