The high-ranking government official's criminal investigation office said it tried to force the president of Yoon Suk Yeol, but it failed due to President Yoon's refusal.

The Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit said, "Prosecutors and investigators visited the Seoul Detention Center to recruit and investigate President Yoon this afternoon (20th), but the recruitment was not made due to the continued refusal to investigate."

Then, he said that he suspended the compulsory recruitment at around 9 p.m. in accordance with the human rights protection regulations, and that he will proceed with criminal proceedings against President Yoon, including reinforcement.

Earlier, the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit visited the Seoul Detention Center at around 3 p.m. today to forcibly recruit President Yoon, who has refused to comply with the investigation several times, and decided to withdraw in six hours.

In this regard, President Yoon's lawyer Seok Dong-hyun claimed that when lawyers were interviewing the president this afternoon, employees of the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit entered the detention center to illegally recruit the president.

He then explained that lawyers continued to interview the president until around 9:30 p.m. to prepare for impeachment hearings, and officials from the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit waited until then before withdrawing.
