Former CEO Kang Dong-seok, who will be tried in connection with the death of a female worker in his 20s at a baking factory of SPC Group affiliate SPL, will be sentenced today (21st).

The Suwon District Court's Pyeongtaek Branch will sentence former representative Kang, who was indicted on charges of violating the Serious Disaster Punishment Act, at 2 p.m. today (21st).

In October 2022, a female worker in her 20s died after being caught in a sandwich sauce machine at an SPL baking factory in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province.In this regard, former representative Kang

was put on trial in August last year on charges of violating the Serious Accident Punishment Act, Occupational Safety and Health Act, and professional negligence.

The prosecution demanded a three-year prison term for former CEO Kang in a final trial in November last year.
